Bungoma governor held on highway by protesting residents

Bungoma, Kenya: Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka was among hundreds of motorists caught in a gridlock along the busy Webuye-Bungoma-Malaba Highway, when angry residents barricaded the road protesting increased insecurity cases at Bukembe market.

The angry residents blocked the key road linking Kenya and Uganda for over three hours on Tuesday, bringing traffic to a near halt.

Lusaka was forced to address the crowd, who blamed the administration police for failing to curb crime in the area.
