The Standard Group is determined to set new standards in the region by continually inventing new products in broadcast, print and online mediums to meet audience needs and those of business community.

The Group’s Executive Board of Directors Member Shaun Zambuni was speaking at a dinner during an award ceremony of the sixth leg of the 2015 Standard County Golf Classic tournament at the Nyali Golf Club in Mombasa County on Saturday night.

He said the launch of the new TV channel KTN News was a pioneer concept in the region which will provide not only a news platform but also an advertising platform in the East Africa region.

He hailed “The Nairobian”, a weekly newspaper published by the Standard Group and which is the fastest growing newspaper in the region, for “having struck a chord with young people and women”. "The Nairobian", he said, has a circulation and rotational readership of two million per issue.

“The Nairobian has certainly struck a chord with the readers, with a circulation that is one of the highest in the country,” said Mr. Zambuni.

Zambuni said the group was prepared to learn from world best practice and bring it to the market for everyone’s enjoyment and increase in business revenue.

Standard Group’s Managing Director Print Operations Francis Munywoki hailed the tournament as an opportunity for the company to get feedback from customers on products and services.

“We’re here to relate to you and also get feedback on how we serve and how your money is working for you in our platform,” said Munywoki who promised that the group will next year come back in a bigger way.

He asked the businessmen to use the advertising platforms provided by the new 24-hour channel, KTN News, The Nairobian, KTN, Radio Maisha and Standard Digital to reach target markets.

During the 18 holes stableford tournament Jimmy King’ori was the overall winner on 39 points and was presented with the prizes by Zambuni.

Nyali Golf Club Chairman Dinesh Sasan, flanked by the club’s Captain Thusara De Silva and green Keeper Ben Mureithi, thanked the Standard Group for partnering with the club, saying the relationship between the two will go a long way towards improving businesses in both ways.
