Bishop Allan Kiuna: Good things come to those who wait

The events that surround the birth of a baby are quite intriguing.

This little human being naturally stays inside another human being for nine months — it’s a silent mandate but mandatory nevertheless.

With time, the baby develops its systems, body functions and more importantly, it readies itself for a transition from one life’s experience into another.

Any interference during that period of waiting can be detrimental to the life of that baby! If the baby comes before that period is over, it is regarded as premature and enters into another process of resource expenditure to make up for the incomplete womb process. And if the baby stays longer, it puts its life and that of the mother in danger. That is how powerful and sensitive the accuracy of incubation is.

Unbeknown to most people in this life, waiting is not an inconvenience, it is the divine process that allows things to form properly. It is patience that gives chance to blessings to become evenly spiced, adequately marinated and sufficiently matured.

Installments of patience make waiting a process of gladness and a chance for self-expansion so that blessings don’t come to choke us.

Sometimes the thing you want is ready for you, but you are not ready for it yet. Whatever you get too soon may destroy rather than edify you. The process of waiting is a very vital aspect in preserving you in your eventual success and a much-needed guarantee of your comfort after success.

The price you are willing to pay, is indicative of the value you attach to what you want to buy. This value you accredit to it changes your level of connection with it and the amount of appreciation you accord it. Waiting builds your stamina to handle blessings. What you have waited for longer, you’ll enjoy more; but what comes easy has no reason to stay.

Waiting is never fun. Patience is never sweet. It might be discouraging to watch people and life pass you by, but never forget that there is a time for everything.

As a matter of fact, there is a fullness of time for anything. When the due date arrives for you to shift to a new level, there is never opposition that is sufficient enough to stop your breakthrough. The trick though is to have the presence of mind to carry life’s pregnancies to full term in total disregard to how many abortions happen around you. Waiting makes the baby mature to full term. Impatience not only kills the potential, it aborts the possibility of divine destiny.

The wait is worth every delayed gratification. Things that come too fast devalue themselves in the process. Waiting creates memories of victories and memories are the building blocks that create the story of acquisition. The stories of acquisition cement our legacies and legacies formulate our history.

And without a history, the future carries no hope or any anchor in the first place. Refuse to be a sudden, quick miracles and ‘microwave life’ kind of a person.

Develop the waiting virtue. Your patience has the power to arouse reconsideration of your case even when you don’t deserve a favourable outcome. Even a relentless and continued prayer can change God’s mind. Your patience can reverse verdicts and turn around predictable outcomes into extraordinary favours.

Don’t give up. Refuse to be a biscuit-willed person. Pursue, apprehend and recover all. Be proud to work hard and wait patiently for your reward. Wait until your baby is born; carry the pregnancy to full term, then push it out with pride and joy!

Corruption and wickedness may seem quick and the norm, but integrity may delay things that will make you shine brighter and longer than the rest of them all. If integrity is the staircase, ignore every escalator. Waiting may not change the problems we face, but it transforms us into better custodians of final outcomes.

In fact, our wait allows us to assimilate new and divergent perspectives that eventually enrich our experiences of the same blessings. Life without delayed gratification is like food without cooking. A prize without a price nullifies the joy of victory, thereby voiding the purpose of competition. It is a paradox, but indeed true that our strength is renewed by waiting. And it is practice that makes perfect.

The things you get quickly mean nothing. What you labour for, you will protect and what you pay the price for, you will guard to keep. It is patience in the midst of pursuit that preserves your acquisitions. Learn to wait and never quit. Winners never quit and quitters never win!
