Meru residents have been urged to take advantage of free cancer screening services and go for tests. The exercise has been sponsored by Dorothy Nyong’o, the wife to Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o, and Phoebe Munya, the wife to Meru Governor Peter Munya.

On Friday, residents turned up for free screening conducted by Faraja Cancer Support Trust, and Mrs Nyong’o’s Africa Cancer Foundation.   Mrs Nyong’o said her family had triumphed over cancer, and it was her wish to see other patients’ access treatment. “I started a foundation to be able to reach out to the people so that they are able to receive treatment on time,” she said.
