The former Devolution and Planning Cabinet secretary may have stepped out of office, but it clearly means very little to some comrades.

This past week, 40 UON comrades ate for free at a Nakuru restaurant 'in the name of Anne Waiguru'. Allegedly, the University of Nairobi students invoked the name of Waiguru in a restaurant in Nakuru Town when asked to pay their bill.

"They all asked for kuku and an accompaniment, be it chips, ugali, chapati or rice. Then after eating, they had drinks and juices. They ate like Kings," said Feisal.

"After clearing they all stood up in unison like they had planned it. Then they started chanting 'Waiguru must pay! Waiguru must pay! Waiguru must pay!' and started walking out," added Feisal.

Feisal said he rushed to policemen manning a nearby bank and efforts to call antiriot police we futile. He eventually had to deal with the Sh14,150 loss he had incurred.

Speaking to Campus Vibe SONU Chairperson Babu Owino who admitted to being made aware of the situation. He said the students were on their way to a retreat to Kisumu and were just hungry.

"I urge all hotel owners to let hungry UoN comrades eat. I will pay double whatever cost is incurred," said Babu.

He said he had been contacted by the Nakuru hotel and was going to settle any debts incurred at the hotel.

"I will pay that amount to the owner. He should not be worried. My comrades were just hungry," said Babu.
