NAIROBI; KENYA: The State has ordered all public primary schools to be closed indefinitely.
This follows teachers defying successive orders by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to resume classes in compliance with the July 1 Industrial Court order.
The primary school teachers strike led by The Kenya National Teachers Union (KNUT) has lasted for over three weeks.
On Tuesday, the TSC invited trained unemployed teachers to enrol at their nationwide offices by Friday for employment to replace striking teachers. ?
