Rude and grumpy old Indian women

Asian Arena

Indian women

Most people believe the older you are, the wiser you become. While this might be true in some cases, it is a different ballgame when it comes to Indians.

Old Indian women are considered utter nuisance in the community. They are rude, controlling and behave like they know it all. Interacting with them reminds you of mother hens in high school, who wanted things their way or the highway!

They posses this sort of grumpy, whining, impatient attitude that is so annoying.

Recently, I made a stop at Ngara market to buy some vegetables. It was my first time and clearly, I looked rather lost in my own world.

Well, there I was bargaining for fresh yellow capsicum, when I overheard a conversation between an old Asian lady and a vendor.

“Mimi nasema apana taka hiyo! Wewe naambia nichukue hiyo! Nini nalazimisha mimi? Chukua hiyo, chukua hiyo! Apana taka! (I have told you I don’t want that. Why are you forcing me to pick things that I don’t want?!),” screamed the old lady.

“Funga maboga yangu mi naenda! (Just pack my the vegetables and let me be),” she added.

Another old Indian lady who was watching the two from a distance joined the conversation.

“Suu thiyu?” (what happened?) she asked.

The bitter lady explained how the vendor was arrogant and was forcing her to buy stuff she did not need.

“Mbona nalazmisha mama?! Hiyo boga ni baya sana! Jana mi nachukua jana yote inaharibika! (Why are you forcing her? The vegetables are stale, even yesterday I bought some and they were not fresh), “ she shouted.

Clearly, these two women were having either a bad day or were mere attention seekers.
