Habits that Kenyan men must drop in 2015

Lifestyle

Bad male habits

It is that time when you should start penning your annual resolutions.

As 2014 comes to a close, there are a few traits we are all hoping our ever so clueless men will not let roll over to 2015.

Swag

If your Twitter handle is a variation of names like ‘dopest’ or ‘flyboy’ and the bulk of your followers consists of pre-pubescent young girls, and if you are in your thirties and still giving Lil Wayne a run for his money, you need to re-evaluate your life’s decisions.

It is true what they say; swag is for boys and class is for men. Drop the oversized T-shirts and baggy jeans for a tailored suit.

Meanness

Don’t be a cheapskate. Men who have hang-ups about spending money irk me. You have to twist the arms of these men to get them to even spend a little money on themselves. It is an ugly trait. Splurge once in a while.

Poor tipping

These penny-pinching chaps usually make horrible tippers. Customer service is a difficult job. A little appreciation goes a long way. Even if the service was poor, tip anyway.

A poor tipping habit speaks volumes about your character. If leaving a tip is too much to ask, kindly make your own meals and get your alcohol from the liquor store.

Unhealthy eating

Some greasy nyama choma and sticks of chips, washed down with cold malt beer isn’t exactly we would call a balanced diet. Gone are the days when pot bellies were considered a sign of wealth. Nowadays, it only means you are a smelly slob who doesn’t care about his wellbeing. Lifestyle diseases are no joke.

Party animals

Let’s face it. You are not 19 anymore. If you still think club-hopping is cool and you are always getting home with the sunrise, you are not mature enough to hold down a relationship.

Don’t be that guy whose greatest achievement is being the guy who can quaff the most alcohol at a go. Sunday mornings should be spent in building meaningful relationships, not nursing hangovers.
