A Kenya Defence Forces officer has sued his long-time wife for assaulting him.
Francis Okumu has accused his wife, Siprose Adhiambo, for allegedly clobbering him on October 8 at their Githurai home following a quarrel in the bedroom.
Okumu told police that on the material day, he had just arrived home around 9.45pm and didn’t find his wife home, and he proceeded to take a bath.
Minutes after stepping out of the bathroom, he reported that he headed to the bedroom where Adhimabo started to spread the bed hurriedly, while pushing him aside.
The court heard that when Okumu inquired why she threw away some of the items he was using to comb his hair, Adhiambo turned on him angrily and allegedly pushed him with her buttocks onto the bed and later hit him with a blunt object. Adhiambo pleaded with the court saying, “I have lived with Okumu for more than 20 years, but he has not been a straight forward man. He even swore to kill me if I reported anything to police.”
She was released on a Sh5,000 cash bail and personal bond of Sh10,000.
Her trial begins on January 14.
