City doctor ‘who drugged patients for sex’ finally arrested

City News

The doctor who had gone into hiding after allegedly overdosing female patients for sex has been arrested.

Dr Anderson Omoke has allegedly been dodging police since July after his wife Jenifer Monari was arrested and charged with assaulting a female patient.

Jenifer is said to have attacked a patient after finding her in a locked room with her doctor husband.

Dr Omoke was arrested on September 20 after an informer told police the Embakasi doctor had been spotted attending to patients in his clinic.

He was charged on September 22 with drugging Agnes Njambi on June 17 at his Tumaini Health Centre with the intention of raping her.

Jenifer was meanwhile set free on a Sh10,000 bail in July after she denied assaulting Njambi. Her case will be heard on October 2.

Njambi had apparently visited Dr Omoke’s clinic two weeks before the incident for a family planning jab.

The injection reportedly had serious side-effects on the 22-year-old woman, who apparently suffered from nausea, vomiting, headache and backache for more than 10 days after the jab.

Police say that when she returned to the clinic on June 17 to seek advise on the side-effects, Dr Omoke reportedly gave her five tablets to swallow and asked her rest in a couch in one of the rooms in the clinic.

She apparently became weak soon after taking the tablets, after which Dr Omoke allegedly locked himself in the room the patient was in, claiming that he was hiding from county council inspectors who were visiting the clinic for “unnecessary inspection.”

It is then that the doctor’s wife reportedly confronted the two.

She then allegedly attacked and seriously injured Njambi with a piece of wood.

Police claim the doctor has been drugging women for sex.

Dr Omoke denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bail.

His trial begins on January 16.
