Comedian David Ndirangu aka ‘Sleepy’ has confessed to Campus Vibe that thousands of campus girls want him to be their boyfriend.
The third-year Kenyatta University student said he receives thousands of unsolicited seductive and love messages on his phone and Facebook page frequently.
The messages are mostly from university girls across faculties and campuses, including older ones.
“These messages are so creative and moving that they can make a popular love story book. What is surprising is that some of them stop you in town and confess their love. I get bewildered,” Sleepy told Campus Vibe.
“What I want them to know is that I am not interested in dating. My priority now is to better myself.”
The comedian joined ‘Churchill Show’ through auditions, after he impressed veteran comedian and actor Daniel Ndambuki.
Sleepy was hired just after completing his first year in theatre and film technology in 2013. The comedian admits that balancing studies and comedy is tricky, but says he has found a way of going around it. One of his lecturers, Dr John Mugubi, told Campus Vibe that Sleepy is ‘a very humble boy.’
“Sleepy is very small and short, but he can do what other big boys cannot,” Dr Mugubi said. The comedian even served as the class representative in both first and second year.
He has promised his fans continuous supply of jokes through the show aired by a local TV station.
“I am happy with what I do. It has enabled me to buy my first car while in campus!” he said. Sleepy drives a Toyota Avensis, loves Italian jackets and spiced chicken.
