From Miss Kenya to Sondeka Festival, this is what's going down this weekend

The Miss Kenya 2014 Finals

The finals biggest and most coveted beauty pageant in the country hits the showbiz calendar this weekend. After battling it out at the county levels, the final 14 contestants will have the opportunity to represent Kenya at the Miss Earth pageant on 29th November, 2014. The event goes down at Carnivore grounds tonight. Normal charge is Sh1,000 and Sh5,000 for VIP.

Sondeka Festival is On

The Sondeka Festival, a three-day showbiz extravaganza featuring the best and most creative of displays by innovators from the arts, mechanics, technology, fashion, music and literature fields, goes down at Ngong’ Racecourse next weekend. The festival will featue performances from top DJs and musicians including Sarabi band, H_art theBand, Lele Ngoma, Santuri Safari DJs, Them Mushrooms and many more. Charges are Sh700 per day and Sh1,500 for the season tickets.

Kenya Discovery Fashion Weekend

The Kenya Discovery Fashion Weekend is a fashion show that showcases upcoming designers from Kenya and aims to promote new and raw talent. It is also a fashion extravaganza for a cause that believes in the importance of giving back to the society. The show goes down at Zen Gardens, Lower Kabete tomorrow. Charges are Sh4,000 inclusive of a drink.

Girls Night Out with Avril

Celebrated singer and actress Avril headlines the Girls Night Out party at the new 411 Club in Kitengela tonight. The popular joint continues to host a series of parties and major events in the coming weekends.

Mr Lenny for Grandpa Nite

Music label Grandpa Records hosts the Grandpa Nite party October edition at Twenty Four Resort in Eldoret tomorrow. Veteran local artiste Mr Lenny, rising star Renee and DJ Spur will be the headline acts.

Lulu Live Album Launch

Music maestro Lulu and the Zakaleo band will be releasing their maiden album dubbed Thembasa at Alliance Française tonight. The album launch features performances from local gospel acts Victor Mbuvi, Aliwah and Cal with DJ Spyce on the decks. Advance charges are Sh500 and Sh800 at the gate.

Hypnotica hosts Lovers and Friends

The Lovers and Friends musical concert series takes centrestage at Club Hypnotica tonight. This edition is themed IV YOU and features pure soul and an eclectic mix of Live Kenyan music dedicated to your partner and friend. Those expected to perform include The Opening ACT (T.O.A), Fil-ah Filz and Meryl Paige - Paige Diva- The girl with the big voice, DJs Aisha and Sweet Dennis. Advance charges are Sh500 and Sh800 at the gate.

Mfalme at K1

K1 Klubhouse in Westlands hosts the J&B Masquerade party tonight. Catch DJ Joe Mfalme as he spins throughout this one of kind mask themed party and at Galileos Lounge tomorrow night.

Amani at Choices

Roots International continues its musical concert series this coming Thursday at Choices Pub and Restaraunt. This edition is dedicated to the beautiful songbird Amani. The local pop musician and boasts of winning several regional awards including Best Female category at the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards.
