Pulse: Glad to know that you have landed a major deal with Vazzi Clothing. What exactly does the signing entail?
Huddah: It’s a partnership on a collection called Huddah by Vazzi where the line develops exclusive clothing for me and I facilitate the design. I develop, produce and distribute the merchandise.
P: How exactly did you land the deal and how much is it worth?
H: Vazzi noticed my sense of style and reached out to me. I love fashion so it was a match made in heaven, if I can say so.
P: You have had many top collections approaching you to showcase their designs, offers you decline...
H: Let’s just say Vazzi gave me creative control over the entire design process, something no one has ever offered.
P: You have been a model for quite some time and there was even talk of you modelling for an international label. Was that a cosmetics line or lingerie as many speculated?
H: It was a cosmetics line. They wanted to promote their products with a model of darker complexion, which I completely respected. This is why we parted ways.
P: You have been missing in action since your exit from Big Brother Africa even after you announced you would start a charity organisation...
H: I was looking for a good team to surround myself with and help in my decision making, which I now have. The team is working on concepts that we are starting to launch soon, one by one.
P: Which fashion icons and labels would you say are the best in the world?
H: My fashion is just spontaneous. Locally, my fashion idol is myself; internationally I’m really feeling Zendaya Coleman’s style.
P: You have also slowed down on social media activity, is something new happening?
H: I decided to delete my social media platforms to focus on what I was doing because social media can be a bit distracting. When I get my focus, I will come back.
P: Do you think some critics have been too harsh on you..?
H: I don’t think so because the people judging me don’t know me personally, not even the bare minimum. They have every right to judge based on what they read or imagine.
P: Well, everyone is entitled to decide which way their life goes...
H: I am a woman who loves glamour and luxury and who doesn’t care what people say or think. I am very intelligent, confident and courageous. I am an independent woman, a soldier who fights for what’s right and doesn’t back down. When I say I’m gonna do something I do it regardless. I’m very loving yet guarded. I’m a good woman.
P: Unlike the rest of us, you get paid for appearing at functions and events. How much do you make per appearance on average?
H: The minimum is $2,000 (Sh178, 400) .The price adjusts upwards depending on the client, place, time and situation among other considerations.
P: What is an ordinary day like for you?
H: I am always hustling and looking for new opportunities. I don’t have a specific daily regime.
P: What else do you do for a living apart from what we all know?
H: I work with a real estate company. Basically, I am an entrepreneur and I’ve got my hands in different pots. I am about to shoot a pilot for a talk show and I am in talks with some producers for another reality show.
P: We’ve heard all that before...
H: You are hearing this from me this time. We’ll see how that goes.
P: Recently, you had gone into music and even recorded a song with Moustapha that was never released. What happened?
H: Yes, I did a song with Moustapha that came out really good but I decided that I don’t want to venture into music so no... I am not into singing.
P: Do you plan to start a family any time soon?
H: I strongly believe in marriage and family. I am definitely looking forward to walking down the aisle someday. However, I’m not thinking about that at the moment.
P: You were also said to be dating Prezzo and Moustapha before photos of you hanging out with some Nigerian and Ghanaian superstars popped onto the net? Are you dating a star out there?
H: Yes.
P: Is it someone we know?
H: He’s a non-Kenyan international footballer and we have mutually decided to keep the relationship private.
P: Are we confirming that the Ghana outings have finally yielded fruit...
H: Private, I said!
P: What are all the flights you have been taking all about?
H: Both business and pleasure. A girl has to tour the world, you know.
P: There was this crazy picture of you flashing cash in this posh car and smoking hard during a recent trip to Ghana...
H: Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun. Like YOLO!
P: Is it true you don’t like Kenyan men?
H: Not really. I hate the fact that a majority of Kenyan men can spend up to a quarter of a million buying a lady alcohol but can’t spend the same on something beneficial like her grooming. I love a man who is supportive of my dreams and one who spoils me.
P: What tickles you?
H: Literally? Well, if you touch my tattoos or my feet I will get tickled. But seriously, if you are a man looking forward to taking me out, just know that sometimes, Boss Lady is not all about the money.
