For the second year running Gloria Muliro has been crowned the Best Gospel Female Artiste in Kenya.
Together with her fellow Sitolia hit maker Willy Paul, Gloria carried the day during the glitz Mwafaka Awards ceremony held at KICC yesterday with Willy Paul winning the coveted Male Artiste of the Year award after scooping the Song of the Year category during last year's ceremony.
The awards that were sponsored by Safaricom Skiza Tune and the Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRiSK) attracted thousands of entertainers and music lovers and the versatile singing and dancing thrills of the day were worth the big hype the annual event is associated with.
"We sponsored Mwafaka because we believe in the creative talent in this country and we will continue doing so in the coming days," said Angela Ndambuki, the PRiSK CEO who was present at the gala event to present an award.
"Mwafaka has been growing big year-after-year and this shows that artistes and fans have faith in what we are doing. The list of entries was big this year and I can say, the nominations and eventual process to get the winners was very competitive," Dydyero, the Mwafaka awards founder told MondayBlues.
And to continue what has been a very promising year in his music career spanning about three years, Bahati was celebrated during the awards as his video for the smash hit track Barua won the video category. Other major winners included newcomer Pitson thanks to his contemporary gospel single Lingala Ya Yesu and DJ Don.
