Crazy scenes from Naksvegas

Social Scene

So I had to blow off my mates Clifton G and SDPartington’s Lukenya last minute in order to go to Nakuru for da gospel event at Kabarnet.

But when duty, n the Lord call, you answer dat call, even if yur takin’ a short call. So after saying ciao to artist Msoo, I joined Pulse editor Stevoski Muendos, Dohr, photo journa Davie Gichuru n Koome in his moti – n off we vamoosed to Naksvegas for tha weekend (only stopping at ABC Place long enuff to stock up on the vodosky, Jamesons and six pack tanyez – journey mercies).

It waz a beautiful Sato n we rolled up nicely all the way to Kikopey, where we contributed to the local economy by not only nunuaing nyake but also nyahunyos, those Maa rungus known as ‘problem solvers’ n lots of muzik cee-dees from all sorts of random folks.

Then, by fall of night, we were now in da heart of Kabarnet campus, having passed by the big mall in Naks for yet more stock, n having been joined by the chiquiita Maryanne, the guv’s good doteski.

We were salimiwad there by SDE guruess Njambi Mungai (ever a pleasure) n I heard even marketing’s Hotensia waz in the house. I like dat name. It lends itself to poetry.

For exampo, ‘Hortensia waz hotter than a Hottentot, like a tot of Egypt’s Cleopatra.’ (Ne’er mind dat I ne’er saw her). The campus’s main hall waz jam packed with people, clearly enjoying the gospel show – pun up – to the high heavens.

The Pulse paps swang to work as Muendos n I n Koome n Co went up front to lead this Lingala ya Yesu from the front. Our own TV/Maisha gospel host Ndiema waz up front, lighting up the Jesus stage.

At some point long after midnyte, we finally decided to relocate, having thoroughly activated Brand Pulse.

We had heard ole pal Deejay Kaytrixx waz at the Drive Arcade, n decided to go there. Some Campus Poom Poom (big mama) wanted to join us, but Koome waz worried his moti might vunjika (or as me lil lass Checheslavia sez, ‘gari tarabuka!’).

After convincing snappa Davie the KTN banners wud survive without our active input, we scattered.

And arrived at a super packed Drive Arcade bar strip on the side of the highway, where it seemed everyone in NaksVegas had packed in.

We salimiad Kaytrixx on the decks, suffered mightily to extract a ka-Jamieson n Viceroy from the bar packed six deep, but Stevoski managed to secure space for our six crew outside, where we grooved n I met very nice mafans like lawyer Kubo Alex.

The fun only kujad to an end at about five in the cocks when some inebriated college boyz tried to get into an altercation wit our Davie over some chiquiitta who had in fact been katiaing him, heh heh heh.

Koome came to the rescue n we drove down to the Rafikiz in NaksVegas n continued the mad fun ... till the crack of the morn.
