Orphan infected with HIV by 'Good Samaritan' sugar mummy

She told him that he deserved what he got because of his womanising ways.

HIV/Aids is no longer a taboo subject, but that doesn’t mean the trauma the one who gets it has become any less. It is not easy to get used to living with a sickness that will stay with you until death, however faithfully you take medication.

Anyway, because of the upcoming World Aids Day, people have been sharing their testimonies and the most shocking thing is that in spite of so sensitisation efforts, there are still people who spread the virus maliciously.

This season, the World Cup for malice goes to some rich women who lure strong, healthy, handsome young men and infect them, then throw them out.

Hassan Ssenoga, a handsome, well-built lad hardly out of his teens is now a volunteer counsellor, who shares his tragic story freely with the media and the people he comes in contact with during his work.

He was orphaned at an early age and grew up yearning for the things that other children took for granted. Just after he completed his O’levels three years ago, he got what he thought was a lucky break; a sugar mummy who was ready to give him all the comforts he needed.

The older woman pretended to be kind and loving, doing her best to please him with her generosity. What is more, she played strict with him and said no to sex, claiming she was interested in building a genuine relationship based on true love.

Meanwhile she was providing him with nice, trendy clothes. It was upon his impatient insistence that she agreed to consider having sex, but on condition that they went for blood screening.

Eagerly, the innocent Hassan accompanied her to the nearest clinic with the screening equipment and they both got their results - Negative.

Overjoyed, he couldn’t wait to get home - he had already moved in with her - and have his first experience of sex. They lived like a married couple, with ample supply of sex, nice clothes and good food. After several months of bliss, she abruptly threw him out. He was shattered but she was firm, telling him she had gotten someone better.

After several months of mourning his lost love and material comforts, he succumbed to pressure from friends and neighbours who kept telling him to take an HIV test. He finally did and it was positive.

Devastation cannot describe what he felt. He went to different facilities and the result were the same - positive. His health started deteriorating rapidly under a combination of the disease and stress.

Finally, he confronted his former sugar mummy and her response was beyond cruel.

She told him that he deserved what he got because of his womanising ways. On asking why she had deliberately infected him, she asked him of what investment value he was to absorb all the money she had injected in him.

His head still reeling from her stark heartlessness, he heard her telling him not to waste any more of her time with his silly questions, for she was busy looking more stupid young fools like him to infect.

She also asked him if he thinks for her she got it from a tree, and what he thought she should do with the virus if not pass it on.
