There is a thin line between sexy and raunchy videos

Musician Blaqy may have intended to produce a music video that will make him the talk of town. That it did, but not the way he might have anticipated, as he became the butt of jokes and victim of scathing attacks on social media.

For one, his choice of video girl might have disappointed those used to svelte swimsuit models in such videos. Even if you prefer ample buns instead of lissome bodies in your video, the production should be tasteful and of high quality.

Risper Faith may have her groupies and fan base of adoring men who can’t get enough of her charms. But casting her in a bikini in the video was a major flop. Her body and beauty could have been accentuated by a different look, not one that emphasises her cellulite!

The half nudity made the whole production look tacky and portrayed her in damning light. It is why she became easy prey for cyber bullies immediately the Money Maker video went public.

There’s a difference between sexy and raunchy and this video borders on the vulgar. Not surprisingly, main media stations have banned it. I don’t understand how the video has managed over 60,000 hits on YouTube. I want to believe that ‘team mafisi’ have been thoroughly disillusioned.

Blaqy’s Money Maker is a tale of repulsion and depravity, even if it was but a weak attempt to follow the trail blazed by P-Unit’s You Guy, Sauti Sol’s Nishike and Sanaipei’s Mfalme wa Mapenzi.
