US defence research agency DARPA has developed a self-steering bullet that can swerve as it passes through the air to make sure it always hits its target - even if that target is moving.
The bullet - born out of the agency's Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) programme - is designed to increase the hit rates for difficult long-distance shots and even allows a novice shooter to hit a moving target.
