Nakuru County commissioner warns residents against hate speech

County commissioner Joshua Nkanata has warned individuals spreading hate speech ahead of next year's general election.

Speaking at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru yesterday during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, Mr Nkanata said hate mongers will be dealt with according to the law.

He said security officers across the country have been advised not to spare any person involved in breach of peace.

The commissioner reminded people that Nakuru was a hot spot during the 2007-2008 post-election violence and called on locals to maintain peace during campaigns and election.

Mr Nkanata also said his officers and the county government were facing challenges in curbing sale of illicit brews.
