After dancing with one of the most famous actresses, Jada Pinkett Smith and Snap-chatting with American RnB singer, Usher, Kenya Boys Choir also managed to rope in Tom Morello into their adventure during their New York visit.
The choir teamed up with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin, Tom Morello on Woody Guthrie’s This Land Is Your Land, which they performed during the Global Citizen Festival.
Morello, who is behind two famous Hollywood movies sound tracks, Pacific Rim and Iron Man 2, was the main act during the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile, the boys impressed actor Will Smith’s wife, Jada, so much that she posted a video of her attempting to pull African moves alongside the group on her Facebook page.
She danced rhythmically to the Boys’ chorale hit based on a Luo folk tune, Koblo.
Jada shook her shoulders side to side with ease and went on to attempt other African moves together with the all-male group.
The Kenya Boys Choir was in New York for the 5th Global Citizen Festival that featured performances by headliners Demi Lovato, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer and Metallica, as well as special guests Usher, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Ellie Goulding, Yandel and Yusuf/Cat Stevens.
