CRICKET: Ong’ondo shines as Ali beat The Spartans

Ali’s Academy beat The Spartans by 30 runs to win the second leg of the Nakuru County T20-Cricket League at Rift Valley Sports Club.

 The Spartans, who won the toss, scored 74 runs against their opponents. Ali’s Academy batted the first with Peter Ong’ondo emerging the best batsman with the highest number of runs at 58. Teammate James Butatile managed 11 runs.

The Spartans’ Raj Patel scored 24 runs and Vimal Patel emerged as the second best batsman with 16 runs. In the fielding, Patel (Raj) managed 15 runs and six wickets with Dilip Patel emerging the second best with 13 runs and two wickets.

Ali’s Academy’s Reagan Ocholla was the best bowler with 12 runs and three wickets ahead of Butatila who scored nine runs against two wickets.

In the second match pitting Rift Valley Cricket Association (RVCA) against Swamibapa, RVCA who batted first saw Path Patel become the best batsman and man of the match after he managed 45 runs. George Owino was second with 40 runs. —Ben Ahenda
