Western ODM MPs petition party boss Raila Odinga

Funyula MP Paul Otuoma

NAIROBI: Nine ODM MPs yesterday told party leader Raila Odinga to ensure their leaders are respected and their interests served.

The lawmakers who included Funyula MP Paul Otuoma asked Raila to clarify if his party had "ceded the ODM western front" for them to make an appropriate political move.

Speaking at a press conference at Parliament Buildings, the MPs said they were not happy with the way the party was running its business in Western region.

"We are not amused by the way the party is run. The party leader has visited the region several times recently without the knowledge of the local leaders, even worse the chairman and Suba MP John Mbadi visited Kwisero constituency and purported to install some leaders in complete disregard of the protocol of informing the area MP," said Mr Otuoma.

"We are neither guests nor slaves of anyone. We have contributed to what ODM is today," he added.
