LSK urges members to back embattled Supreme Court

LSK Chairman Isaac Okero

Law Society of Kenya chairman Isaac Okero has asked members of the public to support the embattled Supreme Court.

Speaking in Nyeri where he met LSK members, Okero said the Supreme Court is a constitutional creation and must be given time to grow.

“We know the public has lost confidence in the Supreme Court and the Judiciary, but we must give them time to recover after losing key judges,” he noted.

He said LSK is hopeful that with the recruitment of new members, it would inject new impetus, attitude and life to the court.

He also urged lawyers countrywide to work with the highest court in the land saying: “We must stand with our brothers and sisters and not expect the teething problems to discredit the institution.”
