Opposition holding Kenya at ransom, says MP

Opposition leader Raila Odinga

The Opposition has been accused of holding the country at ransom with its demands for the removal of IEBC commissioners.

National Assembly Defence Committee Chair Ndung’u Githinji referred to Opposition leader Raila Odinga as a habitual picketer, who was testing the State with his incessant demands every time the country approached elections.

“In every poll, he complains. Before the 2007 polls, he stopped Kibaki from replacing Samuel Kivuitu as Electoral Commissioner chair. Later, he complained that Kivuitu had a hand in rigging,” he said.
