Memphis Depay rules out exit Rumors

Memphis Depay has attempted to put an end to questions about his Manchester United future with a defiant message on Instagram.

The Dutchman raised a few eyebrows this weekend when he deleted all but one his Instagram pictures, with a Sky Sports News presenter suggesting he also unfollowed all of his United teammates on the picture sharing app as well.

Although it later emerged that wasn't the case, there were concerns from United fans that the player's unusual online activity represented a deeper issue.

Depay has endured a difficult debut season with United after joining the club from PSV Eindhoven last summer.

Big things were expected of the 22-year-old, but he has scored just 7 times in 44 appearances and has only completed 90 minutes in six Premier League games since September.

His last top flight goal came in a 2-1 win away to Watford in November, and he uploaded an impressive montage of him celebrating that goal to his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Depay has enjoyed most success on the European stage, scoring five goals in 11 appearances across the Champions League and Europa League.

He came on as a late substitute in United's draw with Leicester on Sunday and appeared to have won an 88th minute penalty for his side, only for referee Michael Oliver to adjudge Danny Drinkwater's foul on Depay to have occurred outside the box despite replays suggesting otherwise.
