Thika needs your help, Mr President

While devolution might have worked for some parts of the country, in the once beautiful Thika town, things are not all rosy.

I request President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit and tour the town to see for himself how it has been ruined. The county government has failed in its management approach.

For many months now, the county government has been undertaking a project to widen a small stretch of the road leading to Thika town centre.

The project is still incomplete and is progressing at a snail's pace. In the process, they created a diversion through a residential Section 9 estate which has become chaotic beyond imagination and the roads ruined.

Residents are not able to freely step out of their homes onto the roads due to very heavy traffic and speedy driving. The buses and matatus drive notoriously in the estate.

There is heavy pollution which has affected the health of the residents. School children in the estate face daily risks as the large buses and matatus drive madly over the estate. Numerous accidents occur daily.
