In aid of a school where pupils know no classroom nor desks

Kenya: There are no classrooms. There are no desks. But there are many children at Nachurur Primary School in Tiaty, Baringo County, dying to get an education — the only thing that can help them wriggle out of the grinding poverty they were born into.

The story of Nachurur Primary received overwhelming reaction from readers after it featured the dire situation the pupils have to go through just to get an education.

To assist the pupils at Nachurur get a better education in a befitting environment, the Standard Media Group has set up a paybill account through which well-wishers can send their contributions.

Money to assist the school can be sent to:

Paybill Number: 505601

NACHURUR PRIMARY SCHOOL FUND

There are trees, the best “classrooms” the pupil have ever seen. There are also stones, many stones that can easily be mistaken for desks.

Hope is still high at Nachurur Primary School, that the benevolent Government will give the pupils laptops. There is also the hope that the pupils and their teachers will use available resources to beat all in KCPE when their time comes.
