Rivals set for face-off as ODM elections start

Three candidates will battle out for the Homa Bay County ODM chairmanship in elections which kick off today.

Area Women Representative Gladys Wanga(pictured), Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma and Tom Dola will face off at the ballot.

Ms Wanga and Mr Kaluma who declared their interest for the seat more than two months ago have been holding meetings with the constituents across the county and members of Homa Bay County Assembly.

The leaders campaigns have split the MCAs. One faction of the MCAs is led by their Deputy Speaker Elyphalet Osuri who supports Wanga while another one is led by the area Majority Leader Owino Ooro who supports Kaluma.

The party elections board Commissioner in charge of Nyanza Peter Odoyo said preparations for the elections were complete.

Homa Bay County Commissioner Kassim Farrah warned voters against violence and said they had put in place adequate security personnel to man the election.
