Mudavadi calls for end to Ruto fixing debate

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has asked the Jubilee and CORD coalitions to stop the debate on the International Criminal Court case facing Deputy President William Ruto.

He said the ongoing debate on who allegedly fixed Ruto resulting in the ICC case could cause animosity in Kenya.

Speaking at a hotel in Voi Town, Taita Taveta County yesterday, Mr Mudavadi accused the two coalitions of engaging in petty debate at the expense of addressing pertinent issues affecting Kenyans.

During his tour of the region, the former vice president held a consultative meeting with more than 100 former civic leaders. Mudavadi also received more than 100 United Democratic Front delegates from Voi, Mwatate, Wundanyi and Taveta constituencies.

Mudavadi quit UDF, which sponsored his unsuccessful 2013 bid for the presidency, in June.

“Jubilee and CORD coalition’s leaders should immediately stop the Ruto fixing debate. The debate we should be having now is how the government can pay teachers’ 50-60 per cent salary increment,” he said.

The former vice presient was accompanied by, among others, former Voi MP Basil Mwakiringo, ANC national chairman Kelvin Lunani and Kwale MCA Suleiman Salim Nzala.
