National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale happy with development in Garissa

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has lauded the milestones made in the northern Kenya under the Jubilee government.

Mr Duale said the region, which has long been marginalised by previous governments, has opened up after major development projects were initiated by government.

"Under Jubilee, Garissa township constituency is going to have its first ever 50 mega watt solar power project in Sankuri division. This will increase economic activities of the people through small and medium size businesses which will usher in a 24-hour economy," said Duale.

The Majority Leader was reacting to criticism from CORD which had accused Jubilee government of neglecting northern Kenya.

Duale said the discovery of oil deposits in parts the region has attracted global investors. "The construction of the crude oil pipeline from Hoima (Uganda) –Lokichar (Turkana) -Isiolo-Garissa -Lamu is a major investment that will open up northern Kenya more so Garissa."

He noted that the government is constructing over 10km of tarmac roads in Garissa township constituency. Duale also lauded Jubilee for reviving the education sector in the region.
