Down but not out: Gareth Bale hints he will be staying at Real Madrid despite interest from Chelsea and Utd

Gareth Bale has played down speculation linking him with a summer switch to Manchester United or Chelsea after pledging his future to Real Madrid.

The Welshman has endured a difficult second season at the Bernabeu which has seen him turned on by some of his own fans after a string of below-par performances.

United are keen to bring the former Spurs star back to the Premier League in the summer as they try to mount a title challenge next season, while Chelsea are also interested.

Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett insists his client has no plans to quit the European giants despite the flak and claimed he would be their best player if they "pass the ball to him more."

The 25-year-old took to social media on Wednesday to commit himself to the Berbabeu for next campaign.

He tweeted: "Not the end of the season we had hoped for, we always want to win trophies!

"Will be working hard in the off season and looking forward to coming back next season stronger with @realmadrid #HalaMadrid"

Meanwhile, Bale has been included in the Wales squad for the crunch Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium.

Defenders James Chester, Paul Dummett and Adam Matthews have been included in the 23-man party, while Andy King returns after serving a two-match suspension.

However, West Ham centre-back James Collins and Tottenham's Ben Davies are both ruled out through injury.
