Governor Samuel Tunai has called on leaders from the county to desist from undermining Deputy President William Ruto and accord him the respect he deserves.

Speaking in Kilgoris Monday during one of a series of prayer meeting being conducted across the county, the governor told his critics to stop dragging Ruto's name into the county's leadership wrangles.

"Recently, we heard the leaders, led by Senator Stephen Ntutu accusing the DP as having visited the county several times, thus equating him to a ward rep. This is totally disrespectful and unacceptable," said Mr Tunai.

Supremacy war

He was accompanied by his deputy Evelyn Aruasa, several ward reps, MPs Ken Kiloku (Narok East) and Soipan Kudate (Woman rep).

Tunai criticised the leaders for stating that Ruto was too junior to handle the raging leadership wrangles in Narok, terming that as contemptuous to the office of the presidency.

"It is known that Ruto's role is to deputise the President of Kenya. Ruto is within the law in looking for a solution to the issues we are experiencing," said Tunai. Ms Aruasa termed the anti-Tunai leaders as insincere and thankless, especially after being helped by Ruto.
