How to kiss, Deadbeat top September Google search in Kenya

 

NAIROBI, KENYA: Deadbeat Kenya, a newly created facebook page that exposes irresponsible men was the top trending search on Google in September. 

Google search trends for Kenya also reveal that the late Joan Rivers and the late Regina Mutoko, were the second and third trending searches respectively as people wanted to know more about them, probably, what caused their death.

Joan Rivers was an American actress, writer and producer while Regina Mutoko was the younger sister of Caroline Mutoko and former Omo Pick A Box host and an IT consultant, who died through a house accident. Trending Searches are searches with the highest amount of traffic on Google over a specific period.  

Other trending searches for the month include: iPhone 6; Esther Arunga, a former TV presenter who was linked to death of her son in Australia and Radamel Falcao, a Colombian footballer.

Louis Otieno, former Kenyan TV presenter who was interviewed in one of the local TV stations about death of his friend, Careen Kipchumba and was later reported to be admitted in hospital; Alaine, a Jamaican musician who performed in Kenya;  Danny Welbeck, an English professional footballer and Caroline Mutoko, a radio presenter with Radio Africa Group also trended in September.   

The top ten searches in September were Arsenal, Tubidy, Waptrick, Chelsea, Manchester United, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Government Human Resource Information System (GHRIS), OLX Kenya, Sports Pesa and English Premier League (EPL).

 Kenyans also wanted to learn how to do certain things. How to kiss was the most searched item under ‘How to’ queries, How to pray came second and How to love, was number three. How to swim, How to invest, How to meditate, How to hack, How to dance, How to romance and How to tweet were also searched, as per Google Search Trends, a publicly available tool that displays relative search volume across geographies, time periods and queries.  

The search trends also show that Kenyans went online to look for answers to ‘How to’ and ‘What is’ questions. What is love topped under ‘What is’ category followed by What is love, What  is ISIS, What is illuminati, What is ebola and What is marketing. Others under this category included were What is philosophy, What is devolution, What is law, What is ethics and What is communication. 

The top/most searched are simply the most popular terms for a specific period ranked in order by volume of searches.
