Nacada orders closure of bars

Baringo, Kenya: National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug abuse (Nacada) has issued a directive for the immediate closure of bars operating without licenses in Eldama Ravine town in Baringo County.

Nacada CEO William Okedo has also directed law enforcers to begin a crackdown on bars situated less than 300 metres away from schools.

Speaking during the end of a three-day fact finding mission in Koibatek sub-county yesterday, Mr Okedi, who met the Lembus Council of Elders, led the community in destroying over 50 bottles of uncertified liquor seized in the area.
