Divock Origi agrees five-year Liverpool deal after passing medical on Friday

Lille’s Belgian striker Divock Origi has agreed a five year contract with Liverpool and is set to be unveiled as the Anfield side’s latest summer signing on Monday according to the Daily Star.

The 19 year old passed a medical with the Premier League side on Friday and is the latest of Brendan Rodgers’ youthful captures, following youngsters Emre Can and Lazar Markovic, who moved to Liverpool move Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica respectively.

Liverpool are expected to pay £10m for Origi, who impressed in Ligue 1 last term and forced his way into Marc Wilmots 2014 World Cup squad, scoring the winner against Russia in the group stages.

Brendan Rodgers is making good use of the £75m paid by Barcelona for striker Luis Suarez and may well bring in a number of further additions before the transfer window slams shut.

Origi’s father Mike has flown to  the US to meet with Liverpool officials in Boston to conclude a deal which will see the 19-year-old loaned back to the French club for next season.
