MACHAKOS COUNTY: NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua has asked Jubilee to embrace dialogue in order to address the myriad challenges facing the country at the moment.

“The Jubilee administration holds the key to dialogue and I want to encourage them to foster dialogue because it is the way forward”, said Karua.

The former powerful cabinet minister during the Kibaki administration pointed out that CORD resulted to the push for referendum after Jubilee refused to heed their call for dialogue.

“It is never too late for dialogue. If they think we shouldn’t subject Kenyans to a referendum, then let them open for dialogue to address pertinent issues affecting Kenyans”, advised Karua.

The 2013 presidential candidate was fielding questions at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos County where her party top organ is holding a two day bonding retreat.

She was accompanied by the party secretary General Amb Mwanyengela Ngali, Nyaribari Masaba MP Elijah Moindi, her deputy Augustine Lotodo and Machakos Deputy Speaker Nathaniel Nganga wa Nganga.

Karua reminded Jubilee and the country that referendum does not mean changing the constitution, likening it to an annual general meeting where people take stock of their successes and failures.

She said her party will continue to play role of pointing out short comings in the Jubilee administration and give credit where it is due.

“We shall support what is positive and offer positive criticism where we deem necessary”, declared Karua.

The former Gichungu MP told the government to stop behaving as if all is well adding her party is perturbed by the continued deterioration of the national security at an alarming rate.

Karua who has been out of limelight for a while regretted that the country has lost time on the implementation of the constitution and challenged parliament to urgently address pending bills.

Amb Ngali who read a statement on behalf of NARC Kenya lamented the persistent insecurity, high cost of living, corruption, public wage bill, inclusivity among other challenges currently facing Kenya.

Moindi said it is the wish of NARC party to see the country run peacefully adding “we need security of this country to be taken seriously”.
