Jet disaster averted in Barcelona near-miss

A passenger jetliner preparing to leave Barcelona's El Prat airport taxied across a runway where another was about to land, forcing the arriving plane to abort its landing and climb sharply to avoid a possible disaster.

The long lens used by the cameraman compresses everything so the planes look like they’re within seconds of a crash. In reality, they were over a kilometre away.

Spanish Authorities are now investigating the incident, but the “go-around” initiated by the Russian aircraft was standard procedure and neither airline has a complaint.
