Nairobi, Kenya: Reza Ali, director of new ventures at ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has emphasised that high quality courses with positive learner experience offering a peer-to-peer support network, will be the way of the future for e-Learning and online education.
Speaking at the fourteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 14) in Kenya, Reza Ali presented in a session examining how e-Learning can leapfrog skills development.
Reza Ali said: “ACCA-X has seen tremendous interest with registrations coming from 230 territories and countries from around the world. The five courses which include free and affordable paid-for have reached 108,000 registrations in the fifteen months since first being offered.
“ACCA-X is proving that high quality courses that offer an engaging digital learning experience will alter the landscape of accountancy and business education, and enhance the business skills required by industry and employers.
“Registration numbers show that the demand for flexible learning is here to stay. The positive and inspiring feedback from learners registered onto the courses tells us that students have not only been waiting for this type of course, they are eager to have the tools which will allow them to retrain for a new career or increase their knowledge.”
ACCA-X is supported by online tutors who guide learners through exciting and interactive content that is designed to support individuals gain financial literacy skills. ACCA believes in flexibility to enhance access to the profession which is one of the main reasons why ACCA-X was developed. It also supports wider policy efforts to narrow the employability gap through e-Learning and enhance productivity.
