Women use their bodies to rise to the top, that’s life

True story. This happened in Nairobi.

Three women applied for a job recently, one of them (allegedly the least qualified) sidestepped the two, met the male boss privately in town and reportedly hit the sack. She got the job. Maybe this Valentine’s weekend, she will be sating the horny boss’ lustful hunger as a reward for his ‘troubles.’

I have met young and decent women who refused to offer their bodies in exchange for jobs, even some that had really good perks. I have met scrupulous young women who refused to sleep with married men, partly because they know it is wrong, and partly because they know that what goes around comes around.

But as pastors, politicians and judges have shown us lately, we don’t necessarily share the same moral values. There are those among us who will not let values stand in their way to power, money, a job or an orgasm. Some young women know that their bodies can be the key to their dream jobs. And you can only use what you have.

At a fairly young age, even at 22, some women have discarded any sense of guilt of sleeping around at will. So, if it brings a job, why not. It is the way of life. They don’t make the rules. In the past, we accused such women of whoring their way to the top. Yet, men who use them, and plant them in offices, brainless as they might be, are just as culpable. I have so much disdain for such men.

In the past, only extremely gorgeous women used to purposely flaunt their cleavages, derrieres and legs to job interviews. If the panellists were libidinous middle-aged men, beauty always won over brains, hands down.

But now, my reliable friends notify me that even ordinary, married, church-going women, equally sleep around if it comes down to it. Never be fooled by a woman reading Spenser Johnson’s, Who Moved My Cheese, in public.

Essentially, some women no longer play by the rules. Men never kept the rules anyway, so they have learnt from the best. History, the Bible, works of fiction and even Hollywood, are awash with women who used the most potent tool in nature - their bodies - to rise to the top.

And lately, they are even more menacing. I usually tell them from their CVs and Twitter bios. If I see the word ‘go-getter,’ I will know that is a dangerous cat, right there.

I have met daring 21-year-olds who are willing to go on advertised vacations to Cape Town, regardless of who is paying the bill. They want all the fancy electronics, damn the consequences. They know some men cannot resist a nubile 21-year-old out to help them relive their youthful ways. All these at the expense of qualified, but less appealing young girls, goes to show how uncaring and cold the world is. We are governed by our base instincts. Human nature never changes.

Recently, while on an insomniac trawling of the internet, I came across a sermon by an Adventist preacher, Charles Wesley Knight, in which he says, the way you get something is the way you have to keep the very thing. “If you get a job by lying, you have to keep the job by lying,” he said. And I agree. If a woman sleeps around to get a job, she will always do so not just to keep the job, but even the promotions. Yet, such women are always disdainful of fellow women in their departments, and every young intern who shows up and looks like a threat will have it rough.

They tend to be manipulatively ruthless. They hate anyone who looks beautiful for they know they might take their place. They are heartless. It is a trait that develops when it dawns on a woman that she has been used and abandoned (or about to) for a younger, better version of herself. Boy, this woman can make you lose your job at the snap of the finger.

Bottom line for those who cannot use their bodies, it is the way of life, deal with it. But Karma exists. And sometimes she arrives on steroids.
