Kenya: CORD leader Raila Odinga has said beatification of Sister Irene Stefani, set for tomorrow, rallies Kenya on the path of the much needed unity, quest for tranquillity and peace.

Raila noted that the event is significant in the history of Kenya and particularly to Christians and their journey in faith.

In a statement sent to newsrooms on Friday, the former premier further said the event proves that good deeds never run out of season or fashion, adding that the human race will always search for and honour those who do good.

“The event is proof that good deeds never run out of fashion or season. That the human race will always search for and honour those who do good is a critical lesson I hope our country carries from this event”, read part of Raila’s statement.

He congratulated the Catholic Church in Kenya and the entire world for what he described as once in a life time event.

He observed that the beatification is also a miracle for the country in several ways and urged Kenyans to draw critical lessons from it.

“May God bless those who undertook the research for the Vatican that led to the beatification. I join the rest of the nation in praying that all goes well and that Sister Irene is beatified in a secure atmosphere full of love, peace and dignity and that these ideals live to serve our country and the people for whom Irene gave her own life”, Raila said.
