Nairobi, Kenya: Women across the country have been asked to take their positions and impact their country positively.

This comes against the backdrop of this year's International Women's Day themed 'Make It Happen' slated for March 8.

"A woman can take her position and become who God ordained her to be and we will see many problems solved. Women have been under so much intimidation such that they have not really known who they are," said Pastor Esther Kiarie of Glory Compassionate Working Ministries.

Pastor Kiarie, also founder of the National Women Prayer Banquet, notes that for a long time women have been left behind and have not been able to fully understand their identity.

The National Women Prayer Banquet is a movement calling women together and will this Friday and Saturday recognise 12 women who have influenced and contributed immensely to the growth and development of Kenya from the 70s to the 90s.

GODLY WOMEN

There will also be women representatives from Uganda and Tanzania.

The event targets women and Kenyans at large and will be held at Christ is the Answer Ministries Valley Road on Friday and a breakfast meeting involving senior women in Government, the private sector, business and the church is set to take place at the Laico Regency on Saturday.

Treasurer Purity Echakara said the event is not a women's liberation movement but one that is about godly women who will bring healing and restoration to Kenya.
