Kisii, Kenya: Kisii University has been closed indefinitely after two days of unrest.

On Tuesday morning, the student union chairman Geoffrey Ongoro was suspended from the institution prompting the students to block the university’s main entrance chanting ‘Akama must go’.

Earlier in the day, the Vice Chancellor Prof John Akama told the students to resume lectures.

“I urge you to resume your lectures as we solve the issue”, Akama said.

The students have been protesting over Sh10, 000 attachment fee that was introduced at the beginning of the year.
