Nairobi, Kenya: Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on Friday led his County Cabinet to State House, Nairobi for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking during the consultative meeting, President Kenyatta said cooperation between the National and County governments was key to national development.
Dr Kidero commended the National Government for allocating huge resources to the County governments. The National Government has allocated Sh210 billion, which is 34 % of the national budget, more than double the 15% required by the Constitution.
The Governor thanked President Kenyatta for inviting him and his team for the meeting.
“This demonstrates the genuine commitment to devolution and the promise of its benefits to the people of Kenya,” Kidero said.
Also present at the meeting was Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru and other Government officials.
