Kenya to gazette new oil exploration blocks

Kenya plans to gazette new oil exploration areas after two firms give up portions of acreage under their exploration licences in coming weeks, an energy ministry official has said.

Alfred Odawa, a consultant geologist at the Energy Ministry, said British explorer Tullow Oil and Anadarko Petroleum would surrender acreage in seven blocks in coming weeks as required in their production-sharing contracts with the government.
