The national cereals and produce board has launched the warehouse receipting system in Eldoret and indicated that it intends to source loans on behalf of farmers that can be obtained on the basis of the receipts. The system is expected to iron out the demand and supply curve as farmers will collect the receipts when they deliver their produce at harvest time and cash the receipts when prices appreciate.
