EACC arrests deputy OCS after receiving bribe

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers from Bungoma and Kisumu arrested a senior policeman based at Busia police station.

At least Sh50,000 was recovered on Tuesday when he was pounced on by the EACC detectives, led by Robert Korir.

The officer was said to have received the bribe to release a vehicle bearing a Ugandan number plate.

A machine that the officers said was used to produce fake currency, was in the vehicle. “We conducted investigations after being tipped off on the matter and arrested the policeman,” said an EACC officer.

"The officer knew the machine used to make fake money was in that vehicle, that is why he refused to release it until he got Sh50,000," the EACC officer said.
