Instagram for business

For many users and brands, Instagram has not been business-friendly.

In spite of its tremendous user base, numerous organisations have found that promoting on this platform is difficult. Even if you are able to post delightful or captivating images users like, guiding them to your business’s website is not easy.

This however, supposedly set to change, thanks to a slew of novel business tools which the company believes will help increase use of the social media platform in work places as well as make it easier for brands to market their company on the photo sharing platform.

By end of 2016, all companies on instagram will be granted a chance to upgrade their accounts to business profiles that offer free features that will now help companies separate themselves from regular users.

One feature in business profiles is a contact button, which the company revealed in their blog post will enable potential customers call, email, or text the business. Another feature is Insights which will help provide companies with analytics on how each post is performing.

Users will also be able to turn well-performing posts into ads from within the Instagram app, and the company added will help businesses on their platform “stand out, get insights and find new customers.”

The company confirmed that “business profiles, insights and the ability to promote will be rolling out in the US, Australia and New Zealand in coming months, and will be available in all regions globally by end of the year.”
