Despite the huge losses that the government incurs every year, through the trade on contraband goods that find its way into the country through its porous borders or those let in by corrupt custom officials manning the same boarders. The government has turned a blind eye on this illegal trade, which now threatens the lives of the majority of Kenyans and a massive revenue leakage for the country.
