Catholic bishops on CJ nominees

The Catholic church wants nominees to key judicial posts vetted on the basis of morality and principles and not just on academic qualifications. In a veiled rejection of the nominee for post of Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga, the highest ranking Catholic Church leader in Kenya John cardinal Njue said the nominations should strictly observe article 166 of the new constitution which emphasizes on integrity of the appointees in the office of chief justice.
