Police recruitment

After two years of a freeze on recruitment, the police force is set to embark on a country-wide recruitment drive. Internal security permanent secretary francis kimemia says the constitution implementation commission has given the go-ahead for the drive. Already, advertisements for the exercise are set to run in local dailies starting tomorrow. The recruitment drive stalled after the cic asserted that recruitment, transfers and promotions of regular and administration police officers could only be conducted by the police service commission, a body that is yet to be constituted.
